A Million Acts of Hope
Safe Air Schools were proud to join this nationwide movement. Through A Million Acts of Hope, Safe Air Schools stood beside hundreds of charities, community groups, faith groups and organisations to raise awareness of the vital role clean indoor air plays in education and wellbeing. This image is a powerful symbol of hope and progress.
Panelist
We were delighted to be invited to join the Climate and Nature Education Festival as panellists and discuss how we can ensure clean air for all. The event, organised by the Ministry of Eco Education alongside the National Education Union, University and College Union, and Unison, brought together inspiring voices from across the sector.
A special highlight was hearing from our junior ambassador, who spoke powerfully about her experiences at school, earning a well-deserved round of applause.
We were also pleased to share helpful resources, including The Urban Greening ‘How-To’ Toolkit, which we are proud to have co-authored.
Input to Ireland's Clean Air Quality Strategy
We were grateful for the opportunity to input into Ireland's Air Quality Strategy. To remain aligned with WHO health-based guidelines, the Strategy should now include indoor air quality. People experience air through exposure, not just outdoor concentrations - this includes inside schools.
Contribution to DfE's Draft Statutory Guidance
We were delighted to be invited by the Department for Education to collaborate on this document, and was pleased to secure a dedicated section on clean air, ensuring it's a core part of the guidance.
Our clean air submission ensured a broad framing that stayed true to our values of inclusivity. We are grateful that much of our submission was included, and have recommended additional elements to further strengthen the guidance. We were also happy to include the asthma and allergy section along with other inclusions, and will provide our full input once the final draft is released, for transparency.

Supporting Clinically Vulnerable Families
Our founder joined our longtime colleagues and their barristers at the UK Covid Inquiry, where they attended as core participants.

What began as a local story in Portsmouth has sparked conversations around the world. Hundreds of thousands of social media views show how strongly clean air in schools resonates. Posts from Canada shared a photo of our junior Clean Air Champions at the United Nations, while others said they would use the article to seek support for their own schools. These findings from Hampshire demonstrate that simple, low-cost measures can make a real difference.
